Great, a new problem. TC light, hard shifting, torque converter stays locked.

I swear my car is possessed. I replaced the BCM (was full of white corrosion) a couple weeks ago, and my car (after the dealership reprogrammed and updated everything) ran great until this morning. In any of the forward gears the car slams into the next gear when shifting, and it D and I it acts like the torque converter is locked. When taking off after first starting you haev to neutral drop it or it dies, and it will still most likely die. If you can get it going you have to manually shift it into I, then to low gear to keep it from sticking in the highest gear. Ohh, in the DIC POWER STEERING is displayed and all but oil life, total mileage, and coolant temperature are a series of dashes. Also, when I push on the brake pedal I feel a clicking in teh shifter, and the auto unlock doesn't work.

This car has given me more problems over the time I've had it then my old 500dollar beaters ever did. I am almost to the point where I want someone to steal it, a meteorite to hit it, or something to happen to it so the insurance company will pay it off and I can start new. Besides any of the preceding happening, does anyone have any advice? Thanks. Ohh, and as soon as I get home I'm going to pull the codes on it.

*update: When I got home I pulled only one code from it, a U0073 fault code.

DTC U0073

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The module setting the DTC has attempted to establish communications on the GMLAN circuits for more than 7 times.

Action Taken When the DTCs Sets

• The module suspends all message transmission.

• The module uses default values for all parameters received on the serial data circuits.

• The module inhibits the setting of all other communication DTCs.

Here's the annoying part. When I hook up my netbook with OBDwiz using the elmscan 5 I have everything works fine. I can't get it to do it while hooked up. Someone "borrowed" my cables for the Scantool...

What would be the best place to start looking here?

Okay, I went under the hood and pushed on the ECM connector and all the fuses. It has not happened since then. I hope that fixed it, and that maybe it was simply a connector working loose.

Its an issue at times with HHR's they will vibrate the underhood fuses and relays loose over time, its a good idea to check them periodically, I do it at every oil change.

I'll do that. Other than the annoying electrical issues the car has had too much of I like the car. It doesn't get the fuel economy my mom's 2007 HHR does, but hers is the 2.2 (same MPG? yeah riiiiiight), but it definitely has more oomph. I like how it hauls things, has room, and I can live with a 24-27 mpg average.
