hard starting after filling gas
hard starting after filling gas
After filling gas tank it takes a while before car starts
Since I just purchased 2009 SS I've filled gas three times and each time engine cranks over 10 secs before starting
Is this normal?

If you try to squeeze more fuel in after the automatic shutoff , yes, next fill up just fill until the nozzle shuts off, if it’s still having a long start problem, let us know, we’ll go from there. Aloha!!
Mahalos
I haven't filled gas totally full maybe 7/8 full but I will see next time
I also have a 2009 ss I bought for parts it doesn't rew past 3500 rpm and shows no boost
any thought

Mine did that. It ended up being the EVAP Emission Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Control Valve on the top front of the motor. Cheap fix, around $30 for the part at local auto parts stores. Cheaper online. Could be worth a look.

code P0451 SOLVED
Car was hard starting after filling gas
Car would crank for 5-10 secs.
So I would leave it running while filling gas.
I changed the vent valve , still same.
I was going check tank vent but looked at purge valve ,which was easily replaced and it solved hard start after gas fill and it even runs better.

Usually P0451 means that the PURGE is working too good, but it can mean it is stuck open the VENT is stuck closed.
The test happens after the engine is shut down it measures the pressure in the tank after a set time. Then the computer tries to zero the sensor, if it can't, because either there is a vacuum or there is too much pressure the code sets. The purge valve is normally closed and the vent valve is normally open, so if one or the other is broken you get the code. And hard starting if the purge valve is open allowing too much air into A/F (opposite of choke).
