Radio problem - new to forum

Hello people... I purchased a '08 LT (white) a few days ago. I've been reading threads on the forum for a couple of weeks in anticipation of the purchase so I could learn what problems to look for - this forum has been very helpful. I'm new to the HHR but not new to GM.
I was playing with the stock MP3 radio earlier today; the owners manual says it will hold 18 preset stations, but I could not get it to switch to FM2 or FM3 (hence it would only hold 6 stations). This is not a major problem - just a nuisance. The CD works fine and I can switch from FM1 to AM and back with no problem. My next step is to shut off the power to the radio for a while and then reset it. Any body else have this problem or any ideas on what to check?

thanks in advance... Jimmy

First you need to push the menu button and make sure you are set up for 6 favorites (FAV)

Then you need to press the FAV button and you should have 6 selections to scroll through. Then on each selection set up what station you want for each button.

When I first checked it, the FAV was set to 2. I changed it to 6. Then it still wouldn't see FM2 or FM3. When I hit the BAND button - it would switch from FM1 to AM and back. When I tried to save one of the AM stations, it changed the FM1 setting.
I bought it at carmax and it appears to be in great shape. They have a 5-day no questions asked return policy - but I don't see this issue being major enough for that. My wife says they should fix it, but I don't want to put it in the shop for a few days and run the risk of messing up something else.
I can live with only 6 presets; besides I can play an MP3 CD with 140 songs or an Ipod.

thanks for the reply... Jimmy

There is no FM1 and FM2. You have to push the FAV button to scroll through each set of 6 section. Just keep pushing the FAV button, you will see what I mean.

You can set anything to your favs. So on our we have FM and xm mixed. So on FAV1 we have a couple local FM and a few xm. I think it's great the way they set this up.
