Help with codes
I just got a 2010 HHR, I still have to get the recalls replaced which I am doing in a few days, however my check engine light came on while driving the car home. I plugged in a code reader and it showed P0010 P0011 P0013 and I am unsure of the part or parts that is needed. I also got some other codes that aren't actually codes, that can't find anywhere. They are 2 INC, EVAP, MISFIRE, COMP, and EGR Can anyone tell me what these mean? I unplugged it waited an hour and plugged it back In and it said something completly different 02 HTR, Fuel, 02 SNSR, and Monitrs
thanks in advance |
We need to be sure you are reading these correctly. What kind of scan tool do you have?

Hi Xena, :welcomewagon: to the forums!
Here's what you need for the P0010/11/13/14 codes. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/ The other things you're seeing are the I/M (Inspection/ Maintenance) monitors, they indicate when the vehicle is "ready" for emissions testing. |
The correct meaning of those codes are as follows:
P0010 Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit P0011 Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) System Performance P0013 Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit Source, right here in these forums: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...010-hhr-14259/ Check the wires and plugs first, but you'll almost surely end up changing both VVT solenoid valves. Hopefully the P0011 is caused by whatever is causing the P0010, but you'll want to convince yourself that the timing chain is OK. I would avoid driving it until you address those codes. If you here any chain noise, don't drive it until you prove the timing chain is tight. |
Remove the valve cover just to make sure the timing chain is tight and the front guide is not broken.
