Hi guys, so my wife's 2008 HHR randomly died on her and I looked at the engine codes and got a list of 5 but only find solutions or explanations for 2 so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im hoping/guessing that the last three are due to the P0013/14 codes but havent bought the part yet to replace it.

The quickest way to find codes is to type them into GoOgle. That is what I am going to do.

Tried that but then got items that didnt pertain to an HHR, is there a MAP sensor on the HHR? I looked on o'reilly's and it didnt pull anything up so I didnt think it was valid.

 

OBDII codes are almost ALL universal in what they mean. The HHR seems to have only the "generic" type of codes programmed into it. So, if you want to know the basic definition of a code GoOgle will tell you that.

Yes the HHR has a MAP, the SS has 2 (called TMAP SENSORS) that are known to have wiring problems. I suspect that all of the codes cited are related to a frayed or shorted wire or a blown fuse.

It is possible that your other codes might be resolved after you replace the VVT camshaft solenoid

I also want to try to find that TMAP sensor....... oreilly's still pulling 0 results

No, that is the MAF sensor as per it's name suggests - Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Give the SEARCH tool at the top of this page a try - just look for MAP - it's location has been well documented here, as well as maintenance and replacement procedures.

Unless the HHR you are talking about (no specifics are given) is an SS model, it does not have any TMAP sensors, as Donbrew noted.

 

I made a wild guess that we are talking SS since it is in the SS Specific section.

As I said: usually a wiring problem, don't throw parts at it.

 

Hmmm, tap on compatibility and the MAP sensor shows for 2.2 and 2.4 HHR's

Alright. I am confused.
This thread is in the SS specific repairs section. So, are we trying to find parts for a SS 2.0 turbo or the regular HHR 2.2 or 2.4 ?
