I agree about the breaking at the same time, but when my MAP sensor went bad it was very intermittent - it wouldn't generate a code but sat there as a Pending for some time, until it finally triggered the CEL. Dang cars sure get hard to diagnose at times.

compare these 2 charts note the similarities:

I guess if the exhaust valve sorted internally it could make the MAP malfunction.

Quick update!!

For starters thank you all for the help, I replaced the VVT valve and it looks like that was the problem, no CEL for the past week. Granted the wife doesn't drive the car much maybe 5- 10miles a day.

If you only replaced the exhaust, my money is on a needing a intake valve very soon.
