HHR Won't Start!!!! Please Help!

So I've scoured the internet, and cannot find the solution to this.

Just a few days ago, I'm leaving work and my car won't start. I've had my battery die before from leaving the lights on, but this was different. The lights, stereo and everything else still worked. I get the clicks but instead of a fast constant click, its in a double rhythmic pattern (click, click......click, click, etc.) and all of the electronics in the car spaz out. CD player ejects, the locks in the door click, lights flash off and on. So it seems that my battery has pleanty of juice. So I get a jump start and it fires up fine. I find that if I jump it and let it run for a while, I can kill the engine and start it again no problem. But if I let it sit like over night, I'll have to jump it again. Well this morning I went to jump start it, and it would'nt even start with a jump. It still had the same symptoms as listed before, but this time it would not turn over. When I went to lock the door with the remote, the horn was very quiet. I could barely hear it.

So based on previous car experience, I think I've narrowed it down to my starter, my battery or my alternator. It's just in my old cars it was more obvious which one it was.

If anybody has had these problems or know what it is please let me know. If I would've been able to jump it today, I was going to go to Auto Zone so they could test the battery. So much for that!

Thanks for the fast response! I'll just get a new battery. I'll let you know if it works! I have another car battery in my boat I could possibly test it with.

I think I may have figured it out. After cleaning out the back of my car to get the battery! The negative terminal on the battery is caked with corrosion. So as soon as my roommate gets back with the ratchet set, I'll clean off the terminals. Its gotta be the battery now, because my remote won't even unlock the doors.
