When my 2011 starts and the seat belt light comes on, I simply turn the car off, wait 20 seconds and start it back up again. That usually clears the error. Some times the SRS box under the console can get wet, especially if you spill a coffee or a soda . Clean the contacts with contact cleaner spray and apply a bit of dielectric grease.

 

There is a yellow connector behind the passenger kick panel that can get wet from window leaks.

 

Yes, Donbrew, and wasn’t the sunroof drain tubes possibly the problem. There’s a thread around here somewhere!

yes apparently there was a recall for the ‘09 model year.
the yellow connection would be replaced it lives in the passenger side footwell kick panel

 

No sunroof on this one.... Having already started the car after work tonight, as soon as I sat down, the airbag light immediately went out, and stayed out the whole trip back home.
