Hub / Bearing Assembly Cost Difference (abs vs. non-abs)
I read where ABS equipped hub assemblies are more expensive than the non-ABS equipped versions.
Why is it that whenever I look online at my local auto retailer's prices I find the non-ABS versions being more expensive?
example..
autozone

the only reason i can think of is because the HHRs with abs are much more common than without. kinda like how some cars with power windows and locks are cheaper than the manual windows and locks. from the factory the HHRs are mostly abs as far as i know, the lt, 2lt, and SS, are all standard with abs. optional on the ls. so the hubs with the abs sensors would be cheaper by them being more common. i could be wrong about all of this

Just found a pair on ebay for 200 shipped. I did research on the part number which pulls up a Moog part. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger... this is the lowest that I found them at.

If I understand from what some other posters have said in other threads - they have purchased the ABS units and removed the sensor. The web site "helhedded" provided the link to have a pair with sensors for $150 shipped.

Yep a co-worker just did the same thing on his Impala. The non-ABS hub assembly was about $50 more than the ABS hub, so he just bought the cheaper one and cut the wire. So yeah, even on other cars like the Impala there is a price difference.
