Humming noise
After changing the brakes last week I started hearing a humming noise when slowing down? It only happens when I use the brakes and come to a complete stop. It's a 2008 hhr with 65k miles. I thought it was a bearing but those usually get louder the faster you go. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you reuse the old rotors, have them resurfaced, or replace them? It sounds like brake noise caused by pads being not quite bedded in, or vibrating as they follow an existing groove in the rotor.

843de rights.
Replace brake pads no enough if the rotors are twisted. test to the rotors. A faulty bearing howling not dependent on inhibition. |
Yes, I did reused the old rotors, But I did have them resurfaced.

I've heard of this before with resurfaced rotors. For lack of a better word...the "grain" that is cut into the rotor should be the culprit. Should go away soon, but I've definitely been wrong before.

but until then you have no tight seal of surfaces. This leads to an increase in braking distance - it is dangerous. Also: unpleasant sensations (vibration); car changes direction of motion during deceleration (not always, too dangerous), further disfiguring the rotors, aggravation of the situation. test and replace the rotors. Do not be greedy - cheap, quick and easy.:fixcar: |

No pusling or vibrations of any kind in the pedal. Other than the humming the the car doesn't fell any different. If the noise doesn't go away by the weekend i'll just buby a new set of rotors. Thanks for all the help.
