Hunting down "laggy" acceleration
Hunting down "laggy" acceleration
Hey all! This is the same user as TheCrazyFrazee, I was a buffoon who lost his authentication app, and couldn't recover my password. I plan to be way more active from now on, and I hope everyone is staying safe.
My Frank, the 07 2.2L 1LT HHR, got the parts cannon recently. Long story short, I just needed engine/transmission mounts and to tighten the lower control arm bolts, which I had installed only weeks prior. I learned my lesson to always check your torque specs. Always.
Anyways, I've been cleaning and sprucing up Frank, and I pulled off the throttle body to clean it out a couple days ago, including the gunked-up PCV hose. I scrubbed with some wd-40 brand throttle and intake cleaner, and I reattached and torqued everything back down. Put a whole new PCV hose in, as the AZ sun dried this one out completely over the last 13 or so years. Today, I noticed that the get-up-and-go had gotten up and left. To clarify, I'd push the gas pedal, going as far as up to 3/4 throttle and the engine certainly sounds mean, but rpms were low and it even jerked as if it lost power once. Could I have done something wrong in my cleaning? Or is this a separate issue?
All the best,
Austin
