i think my hhr is junk....anyone else tired of theirs

so after going through the months of water in the floorboard and 6 trips to the dealer to finally fix it, bad cell in the battery, keys needing reprogrammed, both key less entry remotes going out at the same time, turn signal bulbs popping on 2 different occasions, the water in the decals, motor running extremely rough when ac is on, brake rotors needing turned at just 15,000 miles, over all about 13 trips to the dealer to fix all these different issues...never 1 time was i able to just take it in for an oil change...1 once....rear wiper blade/motor assembly replaced 3 times...and to top it off my transmission now shifts extremely hard from gear to gear...no slipping just shifting hard....so for the 14th time at the dealer in 1 year i take it in..they say they have to reprogram the keyless remotes and reprogram the transmission....i think its BS.....i think my hhr is a PIECE OF S&^T:mad:    and im stuck on 3 more years of a lease.....and its sad to say today my mileage just crossed the 17,000 mark...as it sits in the driveway its at 17,002:(

Sorry to hear about all your issues. Mine has been on the road a few days shy of one year. I have just under 15,000 km on it and I have had no problems except the rotors which I do believe are crap.

You hear stories with every model in every brand about one riddled with issues.

I can`t say I`ve had a real bad experience, but I think since you`ve pretty much said all there is on the subject of a junk ride, (which most would dissagree), let`s talk about this lease thing.
Why do people do it? And are you really stuck for (3) more years, absolutely?
I just cannot fathom the idea of washing and pampering a ride, and all the time knowing I have to give it back, even know the date.
And why would I do all the up-keep on someone elses ride?
Please if you will, explain this leasing idea to me.

Black Beauty, I believe there are threads about leasing on here. I know there is one at least because I remember posting in it many moons ago (if my memory is correct.)

Black Beauty, there's a thread called "No More HHR" which had some discussion on leasing.

You really seem to have a lemon there. :( Sorry to hear this. They do occur, and are not the regular way HHRs run as is evidenced by most of us here. Sure we all gripe about the occasional stupid or sometimes repetitive problem, but you really hava a LOT od issues with yours which sound like a faulty POS car :(
Real sorry to hear of your plight. If it were owned, would you be eligible for any lemon law assistance, or it it the same for leas and purchase?

Dunno there, but could the dealer work with you and get you in another car, even a different HHR ( though I feel you do want to move on )?
Leases may be lemons too on occasion, and it seems you have one.
Us, well, we've had the rotors turned and will once more before the warranty fades. The key/transmission interlock also was repaired under warranty.

That's it so far. Several oil changes by themselves. I'm the one causing problems by scraping up my front on curbs and such.
The car is pretty decent. No huge problems. Unlike yours......:(

Heck talk to a lawyer and see what your rights are. You should not have to pay for such a new vehicle that performs in this manner.
Best of luck.

I like mine just fine, but then again, I take care of my car. I guess when you're actually buying it, you tend not to drive it like a rental car.

You can actually trade in a leased vehicle at any time so long as the rest of the contract term and residual get paid off. If you hate it that bad, just get rid of it!

Missouri has a lemon law. Maybe you should get a hold of the GM Zone Rep. and discuss your options with them. I realize it's a lease vehicle, however, it was delivered to you as a new vehicle. With your repair history, I'd think even your dealer would like to see you out of the vehicle. If you can't get them to cooperate......well there is always the application of two very large lemon decals that can be placed on the sides of the vehicle. Someone locally did that with a Ford mini-van and it was off the street in 24 hours. If you b***h loud enough and long enough, they will get your point and do something.

Good luck.

Hopefully this message comes out OK. Sleeping pills are kicking in and the words are starting to do weird things.

Leases can be good or they can be bad. GMAC leases can be easy to get out of, if you are within a certain time window (usually within 6 months of lease expiry).

With the end of season clearouts on the horizon, you might be able to work a deal to get out of it, but you'd likely have to get into another GM product in return.

We are happy with our HHR. We are leasing but will be buying it out at the end since our mileage numbers are a wee bit higher than what we signed up for  NO way in hell I'm paying $4,000 mileage penalty and let it walk away. Then there are those mods we did that we didnt get approval for :D

That`s a first...

That`s the first time I`ve ever heard of someone doing mods of any sort to a lease veh..
That`s pretty much my point, it belongs to someone else, I shouldn`t be doing anything but driving. Like a rental.
I certainly wouldn`t put vent shades or add a lower grill, on a rental:lol: .
