Installing factory fog lights 2006 LS
 

Question about Relay 54
My 2006 did not come with fog lights. But, I want to install.
Fuse box cover lists location 54 as empty and there is not a relay at location 54.

From my understanding they all have the same wiring harnesses. Thus I should be able to buy a relay and plug it in location 54 and should be good?

Question about the Switch
Looking for a switch and find it odd that the oldest the auto parts store sells is 2008.
If same wiring harness, the 2008 switch should work with my 2006?

There were some changes. For example, the window switches moved to the doors for 2009, but the same change happened in 2008 for the SS.

No they don't all have the same harness, seems like 2006-2007 2LT usually have the wires in place.. The switch is really a sensor (momentary contact) connected to the BCM, if you want to do a "like factory" install you are going to need a BCM programming.
Best advice is to do an after market type install. Running some wires adding a couple of relays and a switch, keeping in mind it is illegal to have the high beams on at the same time the fogs are on. You can find diagrams with a GoOgle search.

If the wires are in place, I would like to use them.
Not sure why BCM would be affected by adding fog lights.
Odd, my Haynes manual does not show wiring for fog lights.

You still have to have the BCM programmed for fog lights, the BCM controls the light system, doesn’t allow the fog lights on with the hi beam headlights.

You may also have to use an auto recycling facilit for the part as the 2006 has an oblong button.
Also the lights have to be turned 'on' every time the car is started.
This will turn on the indicater light on the dash at the same time.

If those are pictures of your car, then you should be able to just install the lights, switch and relay. If it works without programming the BCM you got lucky.
You could use a VOM or test light to verify the wires from the lights to the fuse box. The relay is activated by the BCM. The switch sends a ground signal to the BCM. Fuse #53 15A and relay #54 are for the fogs.
The parts missing from the diagram are the BCM and the switch.
