Intake cam position actuator

Does anyone else have rigid holes under and beside both the intake and exhaust cams actuators?

Hi Trevor, :welcomewagon: to the forums!!

Holes in what?

Trevor Alcorn 07-19-2017 06:17 PM

They are holes in the head. They appear to be from the factory but i just want to make sure.

Here's a picture from the actuator solenoid valve replacement how-to thread. Is this what you're seeing, or do you have the valve cover off?

Here's a shot with the solenoids out and the valve cover off.

And here's an exploded view. #207 is the gasket that seals the area of the actuators(236 and 237) and the center of the valve cover(around the spark plugs) to the head.

The holes he asks about may be the 4 to 6 threaded screw holes on the valve cover? I believe they fastened a plastic shield cover that went over the coil packs keeping dirt & debris out??

Oldblue 07-20-2017 09:17 AM

Yeah, could be I use the 2 front ones to thread the studs in to support my air filter box, they are also used for the coil pack on 2006 models
