Interior Air Filter

I was wondering if anyone has taken the time to check out that passenger area air filter that you get at thru the glove box?? And if so, does it really collect any dust and dirt?

Well dunno if its the air filter or not but I do know my car does a damn good job at not smelling like smoke (I'm a smoker :|) I've been giving the credit to the filter.

I "Think" it's supposed to filter the air from outside? I can't swear to it, and the HHR, and the Owners Manual, aren't here right now. I'll have to look thru it again for details!

Its the cabin air filter that filters out the air blown through your vents. They get FILTHY in AZ when the dust is high. With the rains we have gotten its not so bad.

Had the oil changed and tires rotated at the Chevy dealer today, 6093 miles ( HHR One Year old next Tuesday the 15th) !
While I was there I thought I'd get one of these passenger compartment air filters just to have on hand. Would you believe, they cost $37.00!! I hope someone will come out with a more reasonable one soon!

Count youreself lucky. Some of these things clock in at around $60 to $70. I had a 01 Focus that didnt come with one but I put one in and didn't really notice much of anything.

HERE is a link to the 2006 Chevrolet page at RockAuto.com. Looks like they have all sorts of goodies from what I saw when I was glancing through the site. Good find rdd.
