intermittent traction control

Hi
I just joined this forum today. HHR is my wife's favourite car. We currently have a 2010 and prior to that we owned a 2006. 2.2 litre with automagic tranny.
A week or so ago while driving through town on a nice dry day, the traction control/ ABS activated itself for no apparent reason. We stopped the car, shut it off, restarted it and the problem went away. We have driven it a few times since (about 100 km around town) with no evidence of this problem re-occuring.
Has anyone out there ever heard of such a thing?

Thanks

Richmet

Welcome to the site!

it has happened to me if I get ice gunked up on the ABS sensors or run through a deep puddle or something similar. If it stays on, or says "SERVICE TRACTION" in the dic, then you may have to replace the abs sensors....

Thanks for your input. Even though the incident happened on a relatively clear, mild day, I will have the ABS sensors checked out as I don't want a re-occurence.
I see you live in Buffalo, so you face similar weather issues .
