Unhappy Just bought my used HHR yesterday...

Hi all,

Let me first say I'm new here. I just bought mine yesterday. My hubby and I were excited because we finally got the car we wanted. Only now, there's problems.

First of all, when I got there they needed to put a new battery in it because some dummy left the lights on, then they had to replace one of the fuses. Then we drive it home and this morning it wouldn't start with remote starter nor with the key. We got a jump from roadside assistance and the guy said a battery cell dies when it's real cold outside... Its 15 degrees here in Chicago.

Also, when we drove it after the jump the anti theft light was on throughout the whole trip to my mom's house. Is that normal???

I'm taking the car back to the dealer tommorrow which really makes me quite unhappy.

Can anyone help me with this. I do not want to see my new pal Gomez go away. He's the right color and everything...

Welcome to the site! Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. I've never had to jump start mine, so I don't know about the anti theft light, but the lights shouldn't drain the battery. Have you checked all the fuses to make sure they are seated properly?

Btw.....what color is Gomez? Black or Imperial Blue?

Talking Thanks for the welcome...

Thank you for welcoming me.

Gomez is black.

I love this car soo much.

They supposedly replaced a fuse so I'm really not sure. I'm really concerned because It was actually a great deal and the financing we got will not cover another one unless we provide a down payment.

My hubby and I did try to start it with remote start and we both think because we tried it and it wouldn't work that might have worn down the battery...

I'm with jx3. Open the hood and then take the cover off the fuse box and make sure you push down on all the fuses and relays to make sure all of them are seated properly. On the passenger side on the center console there are more you should check. There is also a 50 amp fuse right by the battery in the rear to make sure that is also seated.
Sometimes simple things can work.
Good luck .

Did you happen to run a CarFax on it? It should not have needed a battery already. Makes me wonder.

Unhappy Thanks for the advice

I have a feeling that something is really wrong with this car. I am going to the dealer today and giving them their keys back. I will still look for another though, I already have two more in mind.

Thanks for your assistance

Angry yep

Yes, I ran carfax on it. It had only one owner. The rental car place in alaska??????

LOL

It had clean title, only 14449 when we bought it. Its very discouraging. They had me wait for over an hr and a half before I test drive it. The love for this car cloud my true feelings.

They sold me a lemon...
