looking at another HHR 09 with 2.4 setting code for knock sensor(has been replaced) was told timing chain noise setting code, 107k wondering if tensioner will cure or needs chain kit ?

At that mileage, I’d replace the timing and balance shaft chains, just to be sure.
And depending on that code, whatever that directs you to.

 

I seriously doubt whatever code you have has anything to do with the knock sensor. Those codes would be P00324-P0328

I am guessing it is really a P0016, that means new timing set.

But, just guessing. Need the actual code, we don't care what the kid at AutoZone said it was for.
