Latest spark plug info

I searched and there is nothing new here. With close to 80k miles, I feel the need to change my plugs. I have been getting a cylinder one misfire code for a while now, and tried switching the coil pack but the code stayed the same.

Many, many years ago (2006), when my car was still new, I read that the Autolite APP5263 plug was better. I installed them and the car, believe it or not, felt faster and the 0 - 60 times improved by 3 tenths of a second.

My question is are there better plugs out there? What have you all been using?

Thanks for your help

I'll be the first to say "best to stay with AC/Delco Iridium."

Recommended change at 100,000 miles.

Did you do a compression and leakdown test? Losing coolant?

I know that A/C Delco Iridium plugs are good for more that 100K, I don't know about the plugs you have. P0301 is rarely due to faulty A/c Delco Iridiums.

I'll be second, I've tried several brands no luck, switched back to AC Delco 41-103's , I'm at 224,000 miles now running great, I just ran from Buffalo NY out to Orleans MA at 75 to 80 mph and averaged 33.6 mpg !

2006 2.2L take 41-105,2.4L takes 41-103.

I just have a moral objection to Ford plugs in a Chevy. Others have anecdotal evidence.

Impressive. Did you like the Cape? I'm from Boston's South Shore, but I won't go there in the summer. It is nuts. Fall is my speed, or a sneaky warm day in May, before school lets out.

That gets you one extra circle of hell - what I was told. Who cares if Dante knew not of Chevy and Ford?

You know what's right. If it's not an emergency, do the right thing.

We love it down there.
