Leaking AC compressor

There is compressor oil on the bottom of the compressor. Seems to be leaking from the area around the red button with the snap ring in this ebay pic.

I'm guessing the refrigerant needs to be evacuated. Is this an easy fix, or do I need a new compressor?

I cleaned it off last week, and it has returned. No residue above the snap ring area.

I put new sealing washers on, and torqued, when I put everything together.

Took it to my mechanic today, he said that it's a relief valve. He evacuated, put in an O-ring, and recharged. It's not leaking now, and blows cold. I'll monitor it.

He didn't even charge me. I'm going to get him a gift card to one of his favorite local restaurants... Once they reopen.

Wow. Nice mechanic to have there. Make sure that gift card is for a good amount. He saved you a couple hundred $.
