Angry manuel transmission shifter knob

Has anybody had a problem with the top half of the knob just coming off while shifting gears or just driving down the road? I had this happen to me this morning while shifting from 2nd to 3rd just normal driving. It appears that
the 4 prongs that attach it to the base just snapped with no warning.

My popped off yesterday. Four prongs snapped off. Vehicle has 36134 miles. Perfect timing. I just "goop"ed mine back on.

Had the same thing happen to mine, and the dealer would not cover it under warranty. They said it was my fault. Hmmm.

Haven't had it pop off, but that cheap chrome finnish has flaked off here and there on it. I used clear nail polish to smooth it over. Sad that its so cheaply made. Would have been nice to have had a better quality knob.

The TWM shifter is awesome!

Unfortunately just their knobs won't fit the OEM shaft.

They've got a good group buy going on now.

As A followup, I contacted my dealership salesperson who told me that its a common problem also with Cobalts as they use the same assembly. He checked with parts department to see if in stock but said on national back-order, however they located one at another dealership and had it the next day and it took less than 1/2 hour to replace under warrenty.
