Minor Jolting at Stop
Minor Jolting at Stop
I drive an '09 HHR 2.2L with 60k. The last few weeks I have experienced a minor jolting action while stopped, coupled with a check engine light and minor vibration. At stop the jolting is most noticeable, feeling almost like you are stopped on a bridge with significant bounce. The code has been cleared, and rapidly returned, but the code that it gives is a simple blown fuse for the front power outlet. I have recently gotten my brakes done and an oil change. According to my mechanics, I have a wheel bearing that needs to be replaced that I plan on having done in the next couple of days. I feel as though it is unlikely for that to be contributing to this. I do have a slight vibration when driving, and the wheel bearing is the likely explanation for that. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? A few months ago I had a drastically reduced fuel economy, but that has mostly returned to normal. I am unsure if that could potentially be related.
What was the code that you downloaded? It may not sound relevant, but likely is.
Kinda sounds like an issue with the transmission trying to shift gears back into first gear once the vehicle is stopped???? Does it feel like that?

I am unsure the exact code, I can ask when I stop by the mechanic tomorrow what the exact code is. The jolting could be cause by the transmission, it feels like that might be the case. I neglected to mention that this is intermittent, as is the CEL. This is the most confounding issue I have had thus far with the problem.
If you are encountering rough shifting while driving, best described as a jolt when going up or down through the gears (automatic transmission only of course) - it may be related to this thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...869#post452869
But only if you get a downloaded code of P0010/11/13 or P0014.
Let us know the code when you get it, and we'll see what direction we can point you in.

Ain't no code for blown fuse for front power outlet. Maybe they meant that the could not pull a code on account of that fuse was blown, it is also the fuse for the OBDii port.
Anyway, you need to ask questions of the mechanic in order to have enough information to throw questions out onto the inter-nets. Otherwise you will get a bunch of meaning less answers to questions you did not ask.
