Thumbs up Mods Can Void Warranty

Just talked to dealer and was advised that if I did anything other than cosmetic mods that I woould be jeopardy on my warranty, So if I decide to do any mechanical alterations I am screwed. In fact they told me that the muffler I put on already voids my exhaust warranty. Do I have to give up factory support to modify my car?

Hi Deb, you should print THIS out and take it with you for backup, if you have any problems!

The muffler thing is ridiculous, as it is an expendable part (they crack, rust, wear out), and changing them does not affect anything "upstream." the guy was probably blowing smoke because he had a bad day...

I was at Chevy dealership today having lunch, and my sales guy Mike paid, and i was going over all the mods i have done from front to back even the filter i had put on and the service guy loves my car and was standing there asking me questions. told him i had put on a diff muffler for slight HP and sound improvment and he asked me to crank it. i was parked by a silver HHR and he cranked that one and loved mine better.

there were about 8 sales people all around it and i have been paid twice for showing it on saturday. one time from 10 to 2 during a big sale event and i got $125 and then at a vette show that was there and they wanted me to show mine and i got $200 for that day. i dropped it off and left it for 5 hours and came back and they paid me cash both times.

that guy was giving u a hard time. give him a coupon for a 6 pck of coronas.

That is very cool about you getting paid to drop off your car for viewing at a dealer event! You Go!

Yeah, Deb, He's trying to blow a gasoline rainbow up your ass. Just tell him about the Magnuson Moss Act, If he's not already aware about it.
