Multiple issues
I was driving home from work today, and the computer flashes "Low Fuel." Immediately following the low fuel warning, the dash lights up like a christmas tree! Check Engine light, traction control light, ABS light, security light, computer reads power steering (though it was working), traction off, service esc, service traction...all info on the computer read blank, and all guages stop working, except for the boost gauge. A mile or two down the road, I stop to put gas in. On start, all lights gone, except check engine, and car appears to be running fine. Stopped at the store, found that the car will not remote start, which may be tied to the check engine light.
I hope the dealership will take me as a walk in tomorrow. |

Sounds like an electrical issue with either the engine harness wiring or the fuse box electrical connections under the hood. Another possiblility is the ignition switch, but usually you lose radio and fan controls also when they mess up. |
Radio and heat kept running fine, both before and after the stop for gas.
Thanks for the quick response! |
Well, went to pick up my wife from work, still had the CEL. Came back out, and the light is gone, and the remote start is functioning. Guess I'm ok for now.

There still might be a code stored. I have the dealer take a look or have code CKed at auto zone if there is a code don,t let them erase it just have them give you a print out to take to shop

Same thing happened again today, with one small twist. After stopping and turning the car off, it won't start. No crank when I turn the key, won't take a jump. Just had it towed to the dealership. Will update tomorrow when I get to talk to the dealer.

Got it back from its second trip from the dealership today, and all seems well so far. First time around, the car started for them and they could not replicate the problem. This time, it looks like they got it. "Poor connection with the anti-theft system" was the cause of the car not starting; "wiring and/or connector replaced." The cause of all the other issues was wiring that was 'rubbed through,' which was noted as "serial data/dlc/star connector wiring." Also repaired or replaced.
I'll feel good after a few more trips, but I'm relieved to have it back. |
Wow ! Sorry for your problems , man!
Glad its getting taken care of tho ! :thumb: |
