Need advice

I have been having trouble starting my HHR. It will start after I turn it over a few times and turn the key off and try again. It was starting perfectly but this started after I put gas in it at Walmart. After it does start it seems to run normally. Does anyone have any advice?

Welcome to the site, I see you have a 2007, 2.4 . Possibly contaminated fuel, run a bottle of Techron fuel treatment through the fuel system. How many miles on the odometer , how long have you owned it? How old is the battery?

I would look at the EVAP purge valve (under hood). To test disconnect the electrical and the 2 tubes; blow through it, it should be closed.

Could also be the fuel pump. You might be able to get a loaner fuel pressure tester from the auto parts store.

Possibly loose timing chain, dirty throttle body, dirty fuel rail and injectors, but they all give codes through the check engine light.

Just had it checked for codes Orielys and nothing came up. But let me ask, are you supposed to be able to blow thru the EVAP valve or not? I took mine off and can't blow thru it.

It is normally closed.

Do they sell E85 where you got the fuel? There have been screwups where they put E85 in the wrong underground tank. Makes the car run very lean and hard to start. Should eventually throw a code though.

I love typo's.
The OP's bio says he has a 2.7 engine.
