Need help with supposedly broken timing chain.
Should I mention that part to the shop? Seems like it would be better than the OEM replacement. Also, Oldblue, I was looking at that kit you recommended and I was wondering if there was a kit that wouldn't use plastic/nylon parts? Not sure if that is necessary, but I can't help think that having plastic parts is a good thing when it comes to engines.
Well, just an update for those who were wondering. Talked to the mechanic today and said the tensioner broke or failed, causing the timing chain to break. All the valves bent, but the pistons weren't harmed. Hopefully, I'll have my car back tomorrow.
