Need to remove Steering Wheel

Does anyone have a good pic of the latch mechanism on the steering wheel that latches the airbag in place? I have tried to push the tab (maybe haven't tried hard enough) to pop the Airbag loose and can't seem to get it. I have removed a steering wheel airbag from a Monte Carlo I owned so I understand the procedure. I think if I can get a good look at the latch on the wheel it might help!

Thanks

Hey Dave,

It's in there, just keep trying:

Also be very-very careful if needing to dis-connect the air bag as the connector in the back of the bag is trickey to pull apart :thumb:,

I have reviewed these posts and have done the googles. I was hoping someone with an old wheel off the car could post a better picture of the latch on the steering wheel.

Thanks

Well we have removed the Air Bag / Horn Button and this is what we found! Having the steering wheel pointed in the straight ahead position and inserting your screw driver or what ever you plan to use in the hole apply slight pulling preasure to the bag! You will feel the screwdriver making contact with the bags tab! Then press the screwdriver in that area and pull the bag out! Sorry for no pic's!

I'll have to wait till Sat. to try again. I do appreciate your help and thanks again!

Got it off!
Piece of cake when you can see what is going on. When inserting your tool through the hole in the wheel keep it straight (parallel to the spokes) and push back slightly (toward the dash) to keep the tool flat agaist the backside of the housing then push. Once you get it off you'll see what I mean.

I got some pics of the backside of the Airbag retainer latch if any one is interested.
