New Windshield Wiper Problem

I did a search and didn't find this problem, so here goes... When I put my wipers in the "on" position, they still work intermittently for a while. It's randon, too. They may wipe one, wait 5 seconds, wipe twice, then start working correctly. Sometimes they do this for 15-20 minutes before finally staring to work correctly. The high speed on seems to work correctly all the time, and the internittent works correctly. Any suggestions. BTW, I'm sorry I haven't been on here for a while, I've just had nothing to say.:red:

My old truck had a similiar issue. The wiper motor pulse board had a bad solder joint. It even had a recall. I have not heard of any issues with the HHR on this. But I imagine it is something similiar.

Thanks, Solman. It's about to drive me crazy, so I guess I'll have to take it in. That will be the 2nd or 3rd time in 3+ years. I guess that's not too bad of a track record.

I've noticed that if your going 50+ your wipers go to a faster setting than what it was before.

At that speed they automatically switch from intermittant to low.

If mine are at the fastest intermittant, then at 50 they go to low. Any slower intermittant and they just speed up to the next notch, but still intermittant.

Say that 10 times fast....

The intermittent wipers are speed sensitive. As your speed increases, the pause interval between wipes decreases. Above 50 mph, the shortest pause interval goes away completely and the wipers run continuously.

Mine does this however ive noticed it only does at at different speeds. If I speed up or slow down almost like its speed sensitive, other than that though its fine.

Please let us know what you find out at the dealer.
My 06 HHR does the same thing only its gotten worse and 90% of the time my wipers wont even work when i turn them on to the regular speed, and 50% of the time they do work, they work in the intermitent speed and the turn on switch is in the regular speed slot. i was goning to take it in for warranty but my warranty is 100 dollar deductible and the new switch is 45 dollars.
so i would replace it myself if i was sure it is the switch. on the other hand my intermitent works perfect and my fast speed works perfect.
