hurst2001 06-12-2018 01:22 PM

your security light on ?

Uh, when you jump around the relay it works. Doesn't that give you a hint?

Clayton Wait 06-12-2018 04:52 PM

No

Give me a hint..no it dont..... I know theres no key power going to start relay when the key is in start mode....by pushing the contact in relay jto to crank it just tells me the wiring from relay to starter is good.....does key power from switch to to bcm before the starter relay?

donbrew 06-12-2018 05:49 PM

Then exactly what do you mean by "jump the starter relay".

The system is NOT like your 1959 Chevy. There is no wire between the BCM and the relay, there is a serial data link between the BCM and the ECM.

For your edification:

Lol well never seen a 1959 use relays... You can jump any relay but like i said in last post i can push the contacts of the relay and make it start....the relay has 12 batt and leg is ground and one leg goes to what ever the relay used for and other leg is switch power. Correct?... I didnt ask if there was anything between between the relay n bcm.......but buy you reply the relay gets it start feed from bcm...thats what i was asking. Ty

The wiring diagram and schematic I posted should show where and what to test for.

My guess is the neutral/park switch if there is indeed no power on 85 or ground on 86.

BTW; 12V is a dead battery, should be closer to 12.6-14.2.

I’m thinking dead battery or at least a cell or two, mine was pronounced dead at 12.5 volts
