Hi. I have a 2006 LS and the plastic piece that rolls back and forth when the gears are changed has broken off. When the car is in park there is a hole down into the shifter. It's just a matter of time until I spill or drop something in there. Can I get a replacement? Part number? What are steps to replace.

get a new shifter assembly..the shifter assembly with leather boot is gmpart# 25860318

Are we talking about the shifter in an auto or manual? If it is an auto, do they make a leather replacement?

 

the part number i posted above is for an Auto with the leather boot instead of the sliding plastic thingy

ChevyMgr - To your comment "not offered", do you mean 25860318 is not offered? I found a part no. elsewhere that is said to supersede 25860318. The new number is 25995462. Is this correct and will fit my 06?
