Please Help With Name of Hose in Air System
Hi all! I have a 2007 2.4 LT2. I'm not the most savvy with parts names so please bear with me. I just changed my air filter and in the process I noticed that there is a hose coming off of the air box area on the passenger side that has a huge split in it. It looks like it goes to the wheel well area. It is about the same size as the rubber one that attaches to the air box on the front but it is made out of a felt type material. I know I need to replace it but I have no clue what its called or if it something that might be too labor intensive for me to do myself. Can anyone help with the name and difficulty level for changing it?
Also, I immediately after I got the dreaded Traction Control (no check engine) light and rough shifting after changing the air filter. I know there has been discussion about changing the Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoids. Any chance that the broken hose might be the issue instead?
Thanks!!

Tube is nicknamed here the 'wolly worm'... You can tape the split till you get a replacement..
That would not cause it to throw a code...
Did you re-connect the MAF plug into the tube going into the throttle body ?

Broken hose can not itself create a problem. Another thing - a force that destroyed the hose could break something else.
Solenoids - unlikely, but possible. I think first on the way this power has to stand up the hose, second - the air filter box, and then engine cover and solenoids. Thus, if the air filter box is not damaged, solenoids functional with high probability.
As for the hose, it's really easy assembly / disassembly. In each setting, using a screwdriver.
Frankly, in my HHR this hose is uninstall. In Russia is rather muddy road. Once I discovered that the hose sucks the dirt out from under the fender and fills this dirt in the air filter. I disconnected one end of hose and threw him to hang out near the engine. Too bad idea, unattached hose hung like elephant's penis, it could interfere with the rotation of the belts and drives. Then I just uninstall and threw it. No problem, the operation of the engine without modification, not added a dirt.

Thanks for the responses. I'll be getting a new "wolly worm" this weekend.
As far as I can tell, everything that was unplugged got plugged back in.
I've had to drive it to work all week (110 miles round trip each day) and the TC light and now the engine light are coming on intermittenly. Not always together. I'm going to have to see what code its throwing now that the check engine light is on.
