Po641
Po641
I have a 2010 Chevy HHR 2.2l I am getting po641 I checked the 5 v reference to sensors and I get 5v from the harness to the intake cam sensor with it unplugged as soon as I connect it back to the sensor I lose the 5 v and get nothing I assume this means the sensor is bad/shorted
has anyone else encountered this I've been fighting with this thing for awhile I have replaced the cam position actuator solenoids and timing chain.

Here's the code service info. Click on the breadcrumbs to navigate the entire manual.

Only other code I have is PO446 I've replaced the evap vent solenoid as well but I haven't replaced the cap yet I think that the issue there. As far as why I replaced the chain I was getting po011 so I replaced the actuators still had the code replaced the chain still got the code went to check the cam position sensor that is when PO0641 showed up That's why I asked about it possibly could be a bad sensor. On another note when I first got the car I found it needed a fuel pump as I had no fuel pressure so that sensor should be fine Map sensor has 5v reference but like I stated in my original post I have 5v at the intake cam sensor with it unplugged but as soon as I plug it in I lose that voltage reading. I'm going to just replaced the sensor and see what happens. unless someone here has a better idea.
Very rare for the the cam sensors to fail, but you may have one of those rare cases. Or it's just wiring. It might explain why the new solenoid didn't fix the P0011.
Re: P0446 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent System Performance
Doubt a fuel cap would fix this. P0442 (small leak) or P0455 (large leak,) maybe.
Did you have that code before you replaced the fuel tank? Have you tested or replaced the evap purge and vent valves?

I thought you already replace4d the cam sensor. ( misread)
If you messed with the sensors on the fuel tank there is a possibility that the pressure sensor wires got shorted which would short if the next module on the circuit is plugged in.
