Power Mirror Issue

Hello, I am new to the forums and I tried a search for this issue but have been unable to find a thread. The issue I'm having on my 2006 HHR LT is with the power mirrors. The driver's side mirror works great and moves the way it is supposed to. The problem occurs when I change to the passenger side mirror. It won't move and when checked, the fuse is blown. I'm not sure if it is something in the switch or the mirror. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any ideas of where to start checking for problems? Thanks for any information.

Sounds like possibly a bad switch or short in wire to the switch or maybe to the mirror.

Where's yer multi-meter tester ?

If it blows only when to that side, that means once you send the reference voltage back to the mirror there's a short . From Bcm to toggle, from toggle to mirror . Get a dvom and check from on end to the other for resistance

Okay, got everything traced down and it was a bad switch. Got the new switch and installed it and everything works beautifully now. Thanks for all the help.

BIG Boss

I'm having a similar problem with my power mirror switch, for either side, switch only operates mirror in down position, won't go up or left or right direction.

Where did you get the switch and $ if you don't mind. Was getting into the door panel a tough task?

I ordered the switch from www.gmpartshouse.com. The switch cost me $48.35 with shipping. As far as getting the door panel off I didn't have a lot of trouble. I found an article online that detailed it very well. If I can find the hyperlink I will post it here for you.
