Power steering recall?
Some HHRs had a power steering recall, others, an extended warranty.
I didn’t think 2009 was subject to the recall, only to the extended warranty, but that’s from memory.
You can check you VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA site, or with any GM dealer. If it’s open, you should have it done.
If not, don’t worry about it unless you have power steering trouble. Then you need to pester a GM dealer (or two.) They may not be aware of the extended warranty. Typically $0 repairs are reported but so is the need for persistence.

You got it backwards. 2009-2010 are are recalled, all others are covered by the extended warranty (which is a sort of recall). This recall includes HHRs that had the PS motor replaced before 2010 (because they were being replaced with the original bad part).
It is a safety issue because loosing the power assist while driving can be really bad. Imagine it suddenly quits in the middle of a tight corner that you were using a finger to control.
