Power steering works fine but light stays on
 

I've tried clearing, rebooting etc.
2008. Anyone have this happen?

Have you taken advantage of the lifetime special warraty?

The electric power steering motor on most non-SS HHRs is covered by either an (extremely) extended warranty or a recall, depending on when it was built. You can go to any GM dealer; need not be Chevy. They often check for the recall but don’t look for the extended warranty, probably because they can’t believe such a long one would exist. By many accounts: (1) persistence pays off, and (2) If applicable it should be a $0 repair out-the-door, but some dealers will try to clip you for bogus extra charges. There are even some accounts of $0 for cars that technically weren’t covered, and most recently I read of an SS that was covered.

2011 LT/LS and all SS are the only "not covered".
