I recently purchased a 2009 HHR. Now my rear passenger side door will not open. I have tried opening from the inside and outside, relocked and unlocked using both my key fob and the button in the car itself. I appeciate any help!

Since you just recently purchased your HHR, check with dealer or used car store to see whether they'll fix it under warranty.

There are ways to get the door open, including having a passenger inside the vehicle "Butt Bumping" the door while you pull on the outside handle. Use caution as it's all to easy to distort the sheetmetal of the door. But you should check on any warranty coverage first, since that puts the repair in their hands.

Why it is failing to open can usually be traced to a failure of the Latch/Lock/Actuator assembly which is GM part number 20791795 available online for around $95 or so.
