The one question mark I see is why you use two #5 grommets on the rear airbox, and One #5 on the front left, when the mounting studs are different.
The 2 on the airbox show #17 and the front left shows #11
Installing new insulators on my SS got me to thinking about this thread. It would be nice to know for sure what insulators are needed for the 2.2/2.4, if there are any differences between years, etc.
The insulator that OP said he needed does not look like the ones for the SS, so we can rule that out. Although... just because it looks different doesn't mean it wouldn't work.
Anybody who's going to be removing their airbox/engine cover, have a look. Maybe someone will measure the diameter of both the hole in the airbox, as well as the diameter of the stud. I can measure the dimensions on my SS, maybe they are the same.

Actually, #11 and #17 are the same part number. I'm still interested in solving this. If any body will be removing their airbox, please measure the diameter of the rear holes, thickness of the plastic of the airbox, diameter of the bolt, and height of the recess of the bolt(overall thickness of insulator).
If anybody has one of these vehicles, please check it out. Or if anybody feels like going to an auto parts recycling yard, let us know what you find about this insulator. Thanks for helping the community with this research project!!
My 2.4L 2010 and my2011 both have the 2 larger insulators in the rear air box.
The smaller one is on the front left side looking from the front of the HHR.
I am wondering if when they went to the VVT in 2009 they might have made a slight change in the air box mounting design ???
The single front one is the easiest to damage during removal and replacement.
I had a very difficult time removing the front on my 2011 but it did not show any damage when I got it off.
Now I put just a dab of white lithium grease on both sides and so far it works ok.

That's a good tip about the grease, folks. Thanks SF! Do you still have early HHRs to look at? Trying to figure out if there was a change.
