Yes and removing the dashboard isn’t going to give any better access to the ductwork.

 

Sorry, I thought I had previously updated. I took my HHR into the dealer soon after the item fell into the vent. I was told they could not retrieve the keys without removing more of the dash and vents. They tried removing from the top defrost vent but could not see the keys. They tried all modes and had no problem with a mode or blend of air not working. They told me the cabin filter is between the vents and blower so there is not a concern about the keys falling directly into the blower. I was told there was a possibility the keys could fall into the blend door. It wasn't a total waste as they replaced the cabin filter. When they replaced the cabin filter they didn't see any foreign objects fall out. At this point there has not been any issues with fallen keys creating a problem. Thank you to everyone that contributed suggestions.
