Tire Pressure Monitor crapped out...

Well my Right Rear Tire pressure monitor took a crap on me today. I had a suspicion it was going bad because it was always giving me a low air pressure reading even when the tire had plenty of pressure.

My question is are these covered under warranty? I have 22k and it's an 2008.

why not ?

i would think it is still under warrantee....my rr on my 08 also sometimes gives me the false reading...i think it may be moisture from the air compressor i sometimes use....it has also had a nail in that tire for 50,000 miles ....it takes about a week for it to loose 2lbs of pressure.

mine does this from time to time too.....either when it's really hot, or I'm kinda wondering if my cell phone messes with it. I have an AT&T Tilt thru work and it has the blackberry messenger on it so I can get my emails at all hours of the day (yay.....not really insert sarcasm)......so it's constantly sending and receiving and I had it mounted on my windshield above the the right side of the steering wheel and would receive errors all the time. And for the past 2 weeks I have it laying in my seat and have no issues. so Ill eventually move it back to see....but this is a thought.

I've had 3 of the four tire monitors fail. All replaced under warranty, and the problem has not returned for about 2 months (it would happen weekly before)

It's the only warranty repair I've had on mine. Which is a good thing overall.

WIth all the issues I keep hearing with these, I'm so glad I don't have them.

I'll stick with what I know works, my tire guage....

Weird thing, I drove to work this morning and everything is fine. The monitor is even reading the correct air pressure.

Should I still have it serviced or will they say it's fine now?

No, it will happen again........Mine does the same thing......usually when the tire gets hot after it cools off........it shuts off I assume it is a bad sensor

next time it does it (it will do it again) take a pic of the DIC readout showing the bad monitor. Show this to the service advisor and they should replace it no problem even if it looks ok when you bring the car in.
