Hey Jay,
Can you mention how much Midas charged to do that?

I went to one and he wanted $520.
I walked out. There's no way that job is half a grand.

In fact they did it for my '03 Elantra for $220 a couple years before.

I got one from Rock Auto and then put a coupling with clamps between the new flex and the rest of the exhaust system. Lasted about a year and then started leaking again. Took it to my local yokel muffler shop and the guy took off my 'handy work' (not what he called it...lol) with a torch and then welded it together. $45 total + listening to him wonder why I didn't just come to him first...

The stock GM cat/pipe goes for $560. There are 5 nuts and 2 O2 sensors to R&R. One hour labor would have to include a cigar break and a "library" visit.

Very true, in my case the cat converter was rattling, which was covered under the 8/80, both the cat and the flex pipe were replaced. Didn't realize until I got the car back the flex pipe had to have been leaking, as the car was much quieter. All covered at zero cost to me under the 8/80.
