Roof Rack parts

I had the factory roof rails installed some time ago and bought the cross bars but never put them on. Went to do it yesterday only to find out that one of the insert tabs was missing (I only got 7 in the box). (They go inside the roof rails to attach the crossbars)
Frustrating and I'm not surprised since the parts were all willy-nilly in the box, not in a nice ziplock bag. GM Parts suppliers have issues.
My dealer gave me a really dumb look and had no clue how to find the part for me. Said he'd call but they still haven't returned his call from 2 weeks ago for something. I'm not hopeful.

Anyone have any ideas? I have a Thule cargo carrier I want to start using on trips.

It looks like those parts aren't available separately.Three possibilities occur to me-one,someone needed one and picked the box you got from which to get their piece,two-since there was no bag in your box, someone had bought that box of rails and decided they didn't want them or couldn't use them after they tore open the parts bag so they returned the box to the dealer or,three-it was never in the box in the first place.
I think you're gonna have to ask your dealer to play "poop on your neighbor" for you and ask them to pull one from another box if they have one or go find a totalled HHR with cross rails and pull one from it(good luck).

I've tried Carparts.com to search junkyards but I'm not coming up with much. It does seem that a totalled HHR with a roof rack AND cross rails would be the way to go. I'm bummed that I got stiffed on the rails. They were expensive!!! and I shouldn't be missing any parts.

Can you fab one up ?

maybe. A square nut about 3/4 wide would suffice. I have to get one of my existing ones back from the dealer. He said he'd try to get one but this guy is the son of the owner. No doubt, "given" the body shop to run. Kid doesn't know a thing about body work.
