No - just unplug and replug - often people do not plug it back in correctly.

 

Let's wait and see the results after the unplugged version is played and the battery disconnect is done!

I was not having a temper event, I was trying to emphasize MAF plug vs, spark plug.

Sorry that impression was left behind. I need to learn too many !!!s are bad.

Another thing that could be in play is that somebody yanked on the wires leading to the MAF connector.

Well after leaving the battery off did not help. But I did find the first plug on the drivers side was not firing. going to try the old plug. if that does not work then it is the coil....

 

Or both plugs are toast!

Well after all the troubleshooting it turned out to be the coil... Funny that it was running fine no trouble codes before and the coil bit the dust after a plug change...

Getting a code reader for diagnostic purposes would have really helped, and saved a mess of fiddling around. You might want to consider purchasing one for your own vehicle (and end up like me, using it on neighbours vehicles as well). I would not be without one now.

If you have a smart phone, you can get an app and a wireless OBD port plug. Runs about $40 for both. I use the Torque app myself and can use it to read codes on all 3 of my vehicles.

But it is pretty basic (doesn't do ABS etc.) - but it's a good brand, and they do have other more comprehensive units available (of course for more $'s)
