service esc, abs, and traction control messages during cold snap

During that really cold snap last week all the service lights and dic messages noted came up at the same time just after start up, warm up and take off to work.
My thought is that because it was so cold the contacts in a harness somewhere pulled apart enough to allow salt in and "shorted" causing the service messages.

Any one else have this issue and sort it out or did it look after itself?

Did you turn your traction control off?

All of it was on when I parked it and working fine.
Started in the am let it warm up from -23° to about 45°C and headed out. Drove maybe 100 feet and the service abs ,esc and traction control warnings on DIC and yellow icons in dash came on.
Only 65000km on vehicle. Not sure if this would be covered on warranty anyway.

To answer the question "has any body else..." Yes, a quick scroll through "recent topics" answers that fast. Top right of any page, your login name, down arrow, recent topics.

It seems HHRs don't like the cold any more than anybody else.

In your case, I'm leaning toward bad t-stat (stuck open). But check your brake fluid level. There is a TSB about the brake fluid level sensor in some models I seem to recall.

I left work yesterday, tires spun in snow, then a message tone came on. Display said "service traction control". My brake, traction control, and anti-lock brakes lights came and stayed on. T/C and anti-lock brakes do not work now. 2007 HHR, 34,000 miles. Wheel hub sensor, software update, what is the current remedy for this?

First, check your brake fluid level. If it is low you probably need to check your pads. Low level upon swishing can trigger some fault lights, as will worn pads.

Second, disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes to try rebooting the computers.
