CEL problem solved (I hope)

Week before last after a fill-up, CEL came on. First thing I did was check my gas cap. Sure enough, I hadn't tightened it. Light went out. Last week light came on for no known reason. I opened my gas cap and retightened it, light went out. Yesterday I drove to Wilmington for my cousins funeral. When I got ready to leave, CEL is on again and nothing that I have done has corrected it.

This AM went to Advanced and they pulled the code. TPS fault not so fast. HHR's don't have a normal TPS. So I go to a local shop to have it checked out completely. They tell me the gas pedal assembly needs to be replaced since that is where the TPS is located (short explanation). The part is GM only and costs $254.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem? Know anything about the gas pedal assy.?

In advance, I thank you !

Have the codes reset and see if it returns..could have been a blip...since it may not have been cleared after the initial fault it could just be a repeat.........

I was going to respond last night but was too tired. The mechanic reset it but it came back on in Bridgeville on my way to work this morning. Part is supposed to be in Wed. or Thurs. - appointment to have it fixed Sat. AM
