stabilizer bar length ??

how do you know which length(9.86 or 11.80) an HHR is supposed to have ?? i have a 2006 LT model that may have had the links replaced at one time. it has aluminum control arms. problem is that i have some contact between the sway bar and the control arms. it has urethane stabilizer bar mounts and new bushings on the control arms. just wondering if the previous owner didnt ut on the proper length links..

By searching "sway bar link". It's not like they have never been discussed.
Or just follow this link: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/

K750012 is the correct part number.

You probably do have the 12" links if they are contacting the LCA.

thanks....i've got some measuring to do tomorrow..

alexrckid 11-18-2014 11:38 AM

went out and measured the stabilizer link length...almost 12 inches end-to-end. original owner replaced the stock lonks with MOOG's. i've got an LT model....so, looks like these links are the wrong ones.??

alexrckid 11-18-2014 12:05 PM

just called MOOG tech support....they said that the correct way to measure their links is zerk fitting to zerk fitting...time to remeasure..

Oldblue 11-18-2014 12:25 PM

still sounds like you have the incorrect ones!

alexrckid 11-18-2014 12:54 PM

found that zerk-to-zerk the links are in the 9.86 range....definately not 11.80(assuming what MOOG told me was correct about the proper method of measurement(not tip-to-tip). anyway...think that i'm gonna have the local chevy dealer get me a stock part number for my HHR(1LT model with FE1 suspension). maybe, if they have one in stock they can measure the stocker for me...........

Other possibility is the sway bar has broken free of its restraints. There are supposed to be plastic stops at the inside edges of the bar bushings.

Just a small thing, BUT.....

Your title is misleading. It states you are requesting the "STABILIZER BAR LENGTH". I was wondering about that until I read downward in the posts and realized you wanted the LINKS measurement.
