davidfr - lets keep this in a single thread rather than starting a new one each time you have a question. 3 threads merged into this one.

The underhood, Drive it up with gentle taps from the hammer and a drift to reach it from underneath

Steering shaft

Installed steering shaft today, following donbrew's instruction. Disconnected battery, tied wheel straight, the tough part was actually getting bottom yoke to slide over attaching shaft so i lightly tapped the slot with a pry tool and hammer. Yoke slid on perfectly. Lining up the top yoke was easy. Lined up nicely. I was very careful and it took me about an hour to finish. The end result was well worth the time to install it. Oh, my old shaft, upon inspection was frozen. When it did give , it sounded like air being pushed out. Kept locking back up at full extension. What is the best way to re install the boot. That another question? And can it be done with shaft installed?

I used an 18 inch 3/8’s drive extension and gently worked from the bottom to the top on both sides

I wanted to avoid using something like a screwdriver or the like, didn’t want to poke a hole in the boot.
