Yesterday my wife and I were driving up Highway 485 in Charlotte and we heard 3 bongs from the car. No codes were displayed and we scrolled through the displays with no indication. This occured several times. Anyone have any idea what these tones may indicate? Sounds something like the tones on a airplane when they are getting ready to land.

Next time it happens, look to see what the passenger airbag message is doing.

 

Do you have OnStar? Was the radio on?

I've gotten phantom calls on two different vehicles through the OnStar system. In both cases, they were trying to sell me minutes

 

I agree with ChevyMgr...a seatbelt weight sensor may be acting up, or if a front passenger reaches into the back seat area, the computer senses the change in seat cushion pressure. (It then should recalibrate after the selt belt is re-fastened)
