The part I don't get is why there is no response from the accelerator. I would check for any codes and see if there is something related to the PPS (pedal position sensor) or such. Since the SS accelerator is "fly by wire" you may have an electrical issue there.

same here. it worked fine a few minutes couple days ago before motor started to struggle. since it was sitting outside, maybe a critter or something may had bitten a wire, but no codes on or pending either. im planning on siphoning as much of the gas as possible then adding 2-3 gallons of fresh gas this weekend (too cold and 40+mph winds today).

The 2.2,2.4 and 2.0 all are drive by wire throttle control. Could be a critter chewing, could be corrosion in the harness connectors

Like the_shmoo? His is dated October 2005, but it’s really a 2006. 2.4, clean as a whistle!

here's an odd one. so i noticed the voltage is showing 11.0 and then i hooked pu my jumpstart and was able to fire the motor over. everything looked normal. i was also able to rev the car over without issues. so i let it idle for about 5 minutes and i unhooked the jumpstart and went inside to let it idle for a few more minutes and check back. after another 5 minutes i checked on the car and it was off. went to check and it was indeed off and the only things running were the accessories and heater. i noticed the voltage was slightly under 11v. my jumpstarter was also in need of charging. i was able to start the car without the jumpstart but once again it was stumbling and throttle was not responsive. battery's fairly new, 09/21. thinking maybe faulty carquest battery or alternator not charging?
