I can't test it from here. Go to the store you bought the battery from and have them test the system. Under 11 volt it is a wonder it started.

Kind of sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery, but could be a lot of other things.

The RPD has a voltage readout. Jump the car again and check the voltage with it running. It will show if it's charging. +14 volts (if the battery isn't shorted and dead.)

i charged the battery overnight and got the car started. voltage on RPD was 14.2-14.4v but after 3-5 minutes it stumbled and stalled. started it again and it struggled. took the battery out and took it to advance auto where i bought it to get tested. the battery tested good so it leads me to believe it may be the alternator which sucks since the car's parked on the side street.
edit-are there any differences between the non-turbo and turbo versions for alternators or year differences? majority of the search on this forum i only seen were members with the 2.2 and 2.4

Uh...why would you think that ?
The Alternator voltage output appeared fine. You recharged the battery so I doubt it just went dead after 3-5 minutes with the engine running. Did you check the battery voltage when the engine died ? Or you just took it to AA to have them test the battery. Saying the battery tested "good" doesn't mean much.
What was the voltage after you charged the battery ? What was the voltage status after they tested it ?

Voltage was 11.7ish when it died. When I restarted it, voltage was 12.6ish. Voltage after charging it according to the battery charger was 13.2 or 95%. AA showed 12.6v which should had enough to start the car. Cold crank and everything else showed in working order

Ok, thanks. 12.6 volts should be enough, what were those CCA numbers?

Didn't get the print out but IIRC the cca was 650 or 660?

Checking the voltage with the engine running is reading the alternator output. Checking it with the engine off is reading the battery voltage.

the voltage was 12.5/.6v both idling and motor off when it was stumbling.

So I guess the 14.2-14.4v in post #23 was a typo ? Lots of confusing info here. Hard to suggest anything to check for.
