T/C light on

I have used search about the T/C light being on, seems like a lot of other people have this problem but no one has a solution. I have an 06 with 97k on it. The T/C light has been on a few days, does anyone know what to do to fix this problem. Oh, it is shifting hard from low to second and again going in to third, and also jerks hard as i take it out of park and into D. Thanks for helping.

You need to have the trouble codes pulled. Not with a simple code reader but one that can also read ABS codes.

X2.

A few auto parts chains have "gone the extra mile" and upgraded their code scanners, but your dealer's service department or an independent tech will have access to a Tech II scanner or its equivalent which can access every possible OBD II trouble code.

Once you get the codes pulled, post them up here.

Complete codes like like "P0014" for example please.

You have a 2.4L my first thought is Camshaft Position Sensors. Oops SOLENOIDS.

have you're battery checked while you're at AZ getting those codes pulled.

That's what it was on my 2006. The code reader showed a camshaft position error and the parts store suggested it was the camshaft position sensor but replacing that didn't help. Changing the cam actuators solved the problem.

I have no idea why it causes the traction control light to come on.

Just cause GM programmed it that way and to ensure driving with the cam issues would limit rpm to avoid engine damage, I no rocket scientist , and I did not sleep in a hotel last night!
